Bio

Jesse Ogle is a lifelong musician, educator, and community organizer whose path to full-time musicianship began in his home state of Arizona, where he studied bass with the late, great Joel DiBartelo of The Tonight Show (1999–2001). He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Music from Oregon State University, exploring genres ranging from bluegrass and hip-hop to Middle Eastern, jazz-funk, soul, and pop.

Since graduating, Jesse has built a dynamic career in the music industry as a touring bassist, bandleader, booking agent, manager, and educator, working primarily in the genres of pop, soul, neo-soul, jazz, and funk. He remains highly active throughout the Mountain West and Southwest U.S. music scenes.

Jesse has toured extensively across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Northern Europe with his co-founded group Hello Dollface. He currently leads the modern soul group J-Calvin, performing over a hundred shows and appearing twice at the Telluride Jazz Festival. In addition to his work as a performer, Jesse hosts a weekly jazz jam and a monthly songwriting series in the Durango community.

As a freelance musician, he plays both guitar and bass for hire and frequently collaborates with artists including Sean Farley and Space Between Shadows. When he’s not performing, Jesse devotes his time to teaching, mentoring, volunteering, and enjoying the outdoors.
