Cameron Wright

Cameron Wright is a dedicated musician and instructor from Durango, Colorado. He began drumming as part of one of iAM MUSIC’s first student groups and now teaches beginner and intermediate drum students at the institute.

Over the years, Cameron has performed with a wide variety of groups, exploring styles from jazz and rock to funk, soul, and beyond. His musical journey has taken him across the U.S., Europe, and Mexico, performing at numerous non-profit and community events.

Passionate about helping students connect with the music they love, Cameron encourages curiosity through listening and supports each student’s individual goals—emphasizing the versatility and creativity of drumming across genres.

He currently performs with local bands The Comin’ Up Roses and Thylan, playing both drum kit and cajón in full band and duo settings. Inspired by drumming icons like Art Blakey, Ginger Baker, and Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, Cameron strives to create a welcoming learning environment where students can unlock rhythm’s potential, build confidence, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for music.
